Our BIH Space and Place

We are located in downtown Brattleboro, VT within walking distance of public transportation and municipal parking.





Our Center's common area, where we hold educational programs and workshops, provides a beautiful view of the Connecticut River and Mount Wantastiquet.





We have created an interior environment that promotes a sense of well-being and balance, which is calming when you enter our space. The materials used in the restructuring of the BIH office suite include bamboo flooring, non-toxic wall paint, reclaimed-use furniture and other sustainable items. Plants abound and pictures from nature and other art grace the walls. The indoor palate is chosen to relax you. We also give honor to the Feng Shui concept of the Five Elements, which has influenced our creation of the BIH ambiance. Natural cleaning products are used throughout and help to maintain a quieting effect on the senses. Gentle music diffuses stress.

Directions to our office:

FROM I-91 (North or South)
Take EXIT 2 off of I-91.
Make LEFT onto Western Ave/VT Route 9-EAST.
At fork in road, stay to the LEFT to continue on VT Route 9/High St.
At the end of High St., make a LEFT onto Main Street /US Rte 5.
We are located 0.1 miles on the RIGHT in The Merchants Bank building.

PARKING: Pass the kiosk for the Merchants Bank building and make next RIGHT onto Harris Place. Make second RIGHT into municipal lot.

Parking is $0.25 for 1.25 hours

We are on the second floor of the Merchants Bank building, NEXT to the Gibson/Aiken/Senior Center.

FROM the North on US Route-5/VT Route-9
Take Putney Rd/Rte-5/Rte 9, heading south toward downtown Brattleboro.
Follow traffic to the RIGHT onto Park Place.
Move to LEFT lane, to make LEFT onto Linden St.
Continue straight to Main St.
We are located 0.2 miles on the LEFT in The Merchants Bank Building.

PARKING: Before you reach 205 Main Street, make LEFT onto Harris Place (TD Bank North and Verizon are located on either side of Harris Place)]
Make second RIGHT into municipal lot.

Parking is $0.25 for 1.25 hours

We are on the second floor of the Merchants Bank building, NEXT to the Gibson/Aiken/Senior Center.

Please note: The parking lot directly in front of the building is for Merchant's Bank customers only. Cars are monitored regularly and towed during bank hours if the individual is not utilizing the bank at that time. BIH can provide you with a quarter for parking, if needed.

Our Future Site

BIH will eventually move to The Biologic Center, planned for 29 Flat Street, Brattleboro. This dynamic, mixed-use building will implement the principles of a healthy environment, constructed with non-toxic, earth friendly materials.

The Biologic Center will strive to be a showplace for green technology using sustainable or recycled material, with an eye toward regional resources and systems, contractors and artisans. Achieving the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) highest platinum rating is our goal.
